Biography

Boylan worked as security for the colony during its early years but one night while on patrol, Taylor asked for his help in burying a body. Boylan used this knowledge to blackmail Taylor into deeding his bar. He had connections with the Sixers, often trading with them to gain items for others, including bringing people to Terra Nova from the future. Skye Tate took Josh Shannon to see Tom to negotiate bringing Josh's girlfriend, Kara, to Terra Nova. Although Boylan and Taylor constantly appear at odds with one another, Boylan agreed to help Taylor uncover a murderer by perpetrating a ruse that he had escaped form custody. When the Sixers infiltrated the colony to help search for the mysterious box Mira wanted Boylan saved Taylor's life by shooting a Sixer. (What Remains, Bylaw, Nightfall)

Boylan meets the Sixers

Boylan relayed to Josh that Mira wanted him to steal some Azimeth from the infirmary and then blackmailed Willy into admitting to stealing the medicine. Josh admitted to his parents that he was the one who took the Azimeth and that Boylan had contacts with the Sixers and he was quickly arrested. Taylor kept Boylan locked up and questioned him, resorting to some psychological tortures such as sleep deprivation, where Boylan accidentally told Jim Shannon abut how he and Taylor buried a body out near Pilgrim's tree. When a convoy was ambushed by the Sixers, Boylan was released as there was no way he could have told the Sixers about the convoy. (Proof, Vs.)

Boylan serves Phoenix soldiers

Boylan traded a replacement wheelchair wheel to Casey Durwin in exchange for his last Promethium core. Maddy Shannon came to attempt to trade for the core, offering to help him with his paper work for the bar, Boylan starting to accept until he learned that Maddy was Jim's daughter, before just giving the core to her. Boylan openly served the Phoenix Group soldiers drinks at his bar, even giving them free drinks, should he feel that it would be in his best interest not to push for the money they owed. When the Phoenix Group left the colony, Boylan contacted Taylor and told him that he and the others were free to come back. (Within, Occupation, Resistance)

Personality

Boylan shoots a Sixer and saves Taylor

Boylan has had some form of military training as he was a security officer for the colony in the early days. Boylan has skills in the manufacture and production of alcoholic beverages and some form of accounting but will take any opportunity to make more money even through subversive and morally-dubious actions such as taking a cut of the money earned for galmbling at his bar or trading with the Sixers.
