Smithson is a member of Terra Nova, possibly part of the security forces. He is apparently known for getting drunk and falling asleep in odd places. Ken Foster assumed that Smithson had fallen asleep inside communications relay station 19-A after he heard noises inside the shed. (Bylaw)
