Skye Alexandria Tate, also called Bucket by her parents, is the daughter of Deborah Tate, a member of the fifth pilgrimage and one of the teenagers of Terra Nova.

Biography

Skye arrived to Terra Nova on the fifth pilgrimage with both of her parents. At some point, her father died of sincyllic fever but her mother, Deborah, was taken to the Sixers for treatment, while the rest of the colony assumed she had died. The Sixers would withhold treatment from Deborah so Skye would spy for them within the colony. Commander Taylor looked after Skye as a kind of surrogate daughter. Skye eventually moved into a house with Tasha Guzman, Max Pope and Hunter Boyce. The day after the tenth pilgrimage arrived, Skye met Josh Shannon in the marketplace and took him to meet her housemates and all five of them went Outside The Gates to go for a swim and drink some moonshine. The teens became trapped out in the jungle after their rover's power cells were looted by the Sixers and then they were attacked by Slashers. Skye and Josh had some of the Sixer weapons and used them to defend the others from the Slashers. (Genesis, Part 1, Genesis, Part 2)

Skye and Josh were cleaning out latreens, punishment for going OTG, and went to the market to get some food. Josh took interest in a guitar being sold but was unable to purchase it. Later Skye and Josh were in the market when it was attacked by a swarm of pterosaurs and later was in the Shannon home when the pterosaurs came back and bet Josh 60 Terras that they wouldn't survive the onslaught, which was so he could buy the guitar. Skye met with Josh later and the two briefly kissed, but was stopped by Josh, who was thinking of Kara, so Skye took him to meet with Tom Boylan to attempt to get Kara to Terra Nova. Skye went with Josh to meet Mira outside the gates, warning him beforehand that doing so would not be a good idea. Skye had to take Hunter to the infirmary where it was found that a Taroca parasite has gotten into his intestines and Skye had to take over the slow extraction of the parasite when Dr. Elisabeth Shannon was otherwise preoccupied. During this Hunter professed with attraction to Skye and that it killed him that she was interested in Josh. (Bylaw, Nightfall)

Skye later told Josh that stealing medicine from the infirmary was for the Sixers going too far and said she was no longer going to help him. Skye attended the harvest festival and briefly spoke to Dunham. Later Skye communicated with the Sixers and was almost caught by Jim Shannon and Reynolds, cutting her hand and leaving behind a drop of blood. When she discovered that the blood had been found by Jim she sabotaged the sample in the infirmary to hide her identity. (Proof, Vs., Now You See Me)

Personality

Skye is incredibly strong willed who has shown herself to be very brave in the face of danger, keeping calm during Slasher attacks and defending her friends. She does what she believes is right for her friends and family including lying to Commander Taylor and communicating information to the Sixers. (Genesis, Part 2, Now You See Me)
