Synopsis
The Phoenix Group's employers prepare to pillage Terra Nova's resources, an action that will destroy half the continent and its wildlife. Meanwhile, Jim, Commander Taylor, and the colonists continue to wage guerrilla warfare against the mercenaries, but Malcolm has finished repairing the damaged terminus. The first shipment of new world resources will soon be sent to 2149. Jim delivers Lt. Washington's message about Cù Lao Chàm to Taylor, who explains it is an island they once fought on. Washington was telling Taylor that the bridge to 2149 must be destroyed to stop the enemy invasion into Terra Nova. Meanwhile, Skye has convinced Lucas that she has joined his side, then tricks him into an ambush while riding with him on the Phoenix convoy. Lucas escapes, but he is subdued by Commander Taylor. Lucas wounds Taylor and is about to kill him when Skye arrives, shooting Lucas. Though it appeared Lucas was dead, he disappears. Taylor has the captured shipping container swapped with one concealing Jim, a bomb, and a drugged carnotaurus. The container is sent through the terminus, and, once inside Hope Plaza, Jim awakens the carnotaurus and lets it loose. After it kills Weaver and his associates, Jim detonates the bomb, destroying the facility, barely making it back through the time portal. Once they are cut off from 2149, the Phoenix Group and the Sixers evacuate Terra Nova, heading to the badlands. The mysterious cargo that was discovered there is revealed to be an 18th century ship's prow and figurehead. How it got to Terra Nova or what else might be in the badlands is an unsolved mystery.
