Synopsis
Taylor prepares for an invasion as the 11th Pilgrimage begins arriving in Terra Nova. A few people, including Kara, emerge from the portal, but a suicide bomber suddenly appears and sets off an explosion. Kara is killed and Jim Shannon is injured. As Jim, unconscious, recovered over the next three days, the mysterious Phoenix Group, mercenaries from 2149, have captured Terra Nova. As Lucas Taylor and his employers are about to start plundering Terra Nova's resources, destroying half the continent and its wildlife in the process, Commander Taylor and his forces have taken refuge in the jungle and are planning an assault. Meanwhile, inside the colony, Jim and Lt. Washington, with help from Malcolm and other colonists, team up against the Phoenix Group to disrupt their operations. Josh, now working at Boylan's bar to help gather intelligence, physically intervenes when Lucas Taylor compromises Skye. Jim, summoned by Skye to save Josh, intercedes, but both Josh and Jim are incarcerated. Josh is released, but Lucas tortures Jim for information before Elisabeth forces Weaver, Lucas' superior from 2149, to get him released. To allow the Shannons to escape Terra Nova and join Taylor, Lt. Washington stays behind to create a distraction as the family slips through the fence. Washington is caught, then executed by Lucas, as Taylor watches from the tree line.
