Kara is the girlfriend of Josh Shannon and the two were once in a band together. She came to Hope Plaza to see him off when he left for Terra Nova on the tenth pilgrimage. Kara later was allowed to make contact with Josh via the Sixers and told him that she had been picked for the eleventh pilgrimage. Some time later she traveled through the time portal to Terra Nova meeting Jim Shannon on the other side, the two briefly hugged before another pilgrim came through the portal strapped with a bomb.
