An Acceraptor, also known as a slasher, is a dangerous, carnivorous dinosaur encountered by the people of Terra Nova.

Overview
Slashers are pack hunters, who corner prey and then signal the others to help in the attack. They have a tough hide, soft under belly and colorful feathers. Male Slashers have sharp barbs on the end of their tails which can slice open human flesh and adolescent male Slashers will have yellow oval spots on their necks which disappear by the time they are four years old. They are very fast, capable of running up to 45 miles/hour. Slashers are known to only hunt at night but occasionally attack during the day and they are put off by the smell of Cycadeoidea. Slashers are also susceptible to heart lesions caused by Trichomonas Sastre larvae. (Genesis, Part 1, Genesis, Part 2, Now You See Me, Nightfall, Resistance)
History
Leah Marcos' father was killed by a Slasher at some point. Josh Shannon, Skye Tate and some other teens were trapped in a Sixer Transport as it was being attacked by Slashers. They attempted to fend them off, but the Slashers called their pack and began ripping the transport open to get inside. Eventually, however, a rescue team arrived and drove the slashers off. Commander Taylor and Mira were hunted by a male and a female pair who were marking out their region for the first time and were forced to fight them off.
